I’m trying to upgrade the RAM in my computer, but I’m having trouble figuring out how to open it up so that I can insert the RAM sticks into the slots… While looking for videos on how to do it, I discovered that they were only available for older versions of the HP Pavilion. Despite the fact that there are two screws on the bottom, there is no way to remove the bottom panel or the top panel once they have been removed. I also don’t want to push myself too hard because this is a new laptop, and I don’t want to ruin it by pushing myself too hard. Is there a video or a step-by-step tutorial that includes pictures? Alternatively, can someone supply pictures and instructions on how to remove the panel so that I may perform RAM upgrades on my computer?

How to Take Apart an HP Laptop

It may be required to disassemble an HP laptop from time to time in order to preserve the laptop in good working order. Dismantling a laptop is a reasonably easy process, whether you’re trying to wipe off dust and grime or replace a component.

Step 1: Turn off your laptop. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Step 2: Turn the laptop over so that the bottom is up and the back panel is facing you, then press the power button.

Step 3: Using the release switch, slide the battery cover open to the right to reveal the battery. Remove the battery from the laptop by lifting it out.

Step 4: Remove the two screws that keep the hard drive lid in place by unscrewing them and pulling them out. Remove the hard drive by taking it out of the laptop with the help of the notch at the top of the case. Remove the hard disc. When not replacing the hard drive, keep the hard drive and its cover in the same package.

Step 5: Remove all of the screws that are located on the rear panel.

Step 6: Open the top of the laptop by turning it right side up.

Step 7: Move the four keyboard release switches in the direction of you. They can be found directly above the keyboard. The keyboard release switches or screws on certain models are hidden by a screen or cover; to access the switches and release the keyboard, pry the screen or cover off with your flathead screwdriver. Then, lifting the top edge of the keyboard and flipping it towards you, the keyboard will lie upside down over the mouse pad, ready to use. To remove the keyboard cord, press down on the button located in front of the keyboard cable. Remove the keyboard from the laptop and set it aside.

Step 8: Remove the wireless antenna receivers from between the laptop screen and the laptop base by unscrewing the screws that hold them in place.

Step 9: Unplug the DVI cable from the computer.

Step 10: Remove the screws that hold the cover to the laptop’s base and set them aside. Remove the laptop cover from the computer.
